This obverse features a date that slants very slightly upward from left to right.



Date rises slightly from left to right

A die crack develops from the tip of Liberty’s foot to star 13 and the rim. Later a series of very thin cracks develop around numerous stars (see enhanced die cracks diagram on next page).

Reverse E

The most notable feature is an obvious knob on the left side of the R in AMERICA.

A well-centered clear mintmark

The die develops die cracks between OF, at CENTS and second A in AMERICA, and later, still more (see enhanced die cracks diagram).





Late state die cracks

Comments: This is the second and final use of this obverse die and the first of two uses of this reverse die.

Scarcity: A fairly common die marriage. Rarity rating: R-2.
