 7.5   Double-struck coins

If a coin fails to eject completely from the coining chamber after striking, it will be struck again. If the coin falls outside of the collar, then the result is a double-struck
coin with two clear impressions of the die. If the coin falls back inside the collar, the result is a coin with two impressions of the dies directly on top of each other. Such coins
are referred to as double-struck in collar. Without close observation, coins double-struck in collar can appear to be normal. The coin below was struck a second time after failing
to eject and falling back into the coining chamber at a 20-degree rotation. The remnants on the first obverse strike appear as a light impression beneath the second strike.
