Obverse 3
The right side of 1 in the date is under the shield point, and is the left-most date position of any of the obverse dies for the 1875-S. There is a diagonal line across a denticles below the 5.
Date to the far left
There is a curved die scratch in the denticles, beginning left of star 2, curving upward toward the field before it ends between stars 2 and 3. It is not as sharp as in BF-3 due to die wear.

Reverse C
This reverse has a mintmark that is positioned moderately high.
Mintmark position
There is a die scratch in the eagle’s upper left wing (to the viewer’s right). It should be fairly easy to see even in moderately circulated examples (see both photos below).
