Reverse C

The first C in the mintmark is high and a little left (away from arrow), second C much closer to the leaf than the arrow.



Wide CC

There is also a vertical die line on the lower left of E in CENTS. Later, die cracks form below the left and middle groups of olive leaves below the eagle (see photo below).e.

In the latest die state, some very faint die cracks appear through S OF.

Comments: This is the second and final use of this obverse die. This is the only use of this reverse die in 1875. This reverse die was re-used in 1876 to strike the legendary 1876-CC coins.

Scarcity: This die pair is relatively common and represents about 25% of all 1875-CC coins. Rarity rating: R-2.
